Two local schools have signed up for the Funky Fruit and Veg Bag Scheme! Whirley School lead the way followed by Hollinhey both received their deliveries of Fruit and Veg Bags full of local where possible, seasonal Fruit and Vegetables. The not for profit scheme set up by go-shop-local encourages children to eat healthily, supports local farms and raises money for the school at the same time.
The cost for the Veg Bag is £5.00 and contains Six different types of Seasonal Vegetables, which vary from week to week.
The Funky Fruit Bag is £7.50 and contains Five different types of Fruit which often vary from week to week.
Not only will you be supporting local farms, 25% of all funds raised goes straight back to the school, so for every 10 bags sold each week this will raise over £600 per year.
